Bryngarw Country Park
We are very close to Bryngarw Country Park where you can walk through unspoilt woods, enjoy the beauty of the River Garw before it joins the Ogmore River, there are also fantastic gardens within those woods together with a children’s activity park and barbeque area for those who want to make a meal of it.  To top off the visit you can have coffee on the lawns at Bryngarw House.

The Garw Valley Railway
This is an ongoing project and the organisers hope to run a train between Pontycymmer and Bryngarw Country Park by Easter 2009! click here to visit their website.

Parc Slip Nature Reserve
This is a beautiful Reserve where there are several small walks and you can see nature blossoming all around.  For the more experienced walker you can also join the 10 mile Ogmore Ridgewalk.  .

Cycle Tracks
The Garw Valley Community Route starts at Bryngarw Country Park and is an 8 mile track through the beautiful Garw Valley.  We also have, running behind our house, the Ogmore Valley Community Cycle Route which is also an 8 mile track and takes you all the way to Nantymoel.  The Ogmore Valley Community Route also forms part of The Celtic Trial and is National Route 4.

Lakeside Farm Park
This is a working hill farm and freshwater fishing centre which is stocked with best quality rainbow trout.   There is also a lot here for children including a children’s fishing pond, outdoor activity centre and a range of small animals to see. click here to visit their website.

Walkers/Ramblers
The Ogwr Ridgeway Walk (15 miles/24KM) runs very close to New Station House Bed & Breakfast or there are lots of walks around the Bridgend area showing the variety on offer here or the Bridgend Circular Walk (20 miles/32 KM) where you can walk around Bridgend in several stages over a number of days.

Coity Castles & Tondu Ironworks
Just two of the historical sites in Bridgend County.  We have an enormous amount of history in this area to investigate.

Bridgend Designer Outlet and Odeon Complex
This is full of top names such as Jaeger, Clarks, Kurt Muller, Bench, French Connection, Remington, The Professional Cookware Company, to name but a few.  Lots on hand for those who enjoy retail therapy with a variety of restaurants for a tasty bite in between shops!  The Odeon Complex has six cinemas showing all the current films.

Beaches
The Glamorgan Heritage Coast, just a short drive away, provides miles of fantastic beaches for your enjoyment and Porthcawl is a lovely seaside town and supplies a variety of beaches for your enjoyment.
